This tour will introduce you to Costa Rican culture and history through visits to museums and historical sites in San José. The tour begins with a visit to the beautiful La Sabana Park. Next, we'll take you on a walk through the historic National Museum, built in 1897 and considered a masterpiece of art and architecture. Following this, we'll visit several of the country's most important museums.
We'll continue the tour with stops at various points of interest, such as the University of Costa Rica and the Supreme Court of Justice. We'll also visit a charming artisan shop where you can find beautiful souvenirs to take home.
At the volcano, we'll take ample time to observe the impressive main crater, complete with sulfur fumaroles.
Afterward, we'll hike along the trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon, where we'll learn about the park's diverse ecosystems.
Later, in Sarchí, a town known as the cradle of Costa Rican handicrafts due to its numerous workshops working with fine woods, we'll have time to admire the artisans crafting the famous traditional oxcarts and choose a souvenir to take home.
We will depart from San José in the morning. We will pass through Braulio Carrillo National Park, where we can admire the biodiversity of this stunning protected area – 95% of which is primary forest. We will enjoy a delicious breakfast en route. Upon arrival in Tortuguero, we will experience the exotic natural paradise of the area along the Tortuguero Canals aboard a comfortable boat.
Afterward, we will enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious lunch at the lodge in Tortuguero. After lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area, and the small, picturesque village of Tortuguero. A delicious dinner will be served upon arrival at the lodge.
Get ready for a hike in the mountains of Tortuguero National Park and discover this unique paradise and its magnificent flora and fauna!
After a well-deserved lunch at the hotel, you can enjoy private trails, boat trips along the canals, or simply relax while admiring nature.
We will transfer you by boat from the hotel to the dock, to take the transport service that will take you to the Arenal Volcano area.
Arenal Volcano is one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the Americas. During your visit to Baldi Hot Springs, you can feel the ground vibrate and admire the natural surroundings of the imposing volcano. You will also enjoy the hot springs, where you can relax in the warm waters while contemplating nature.
Transfer to Monteverde and the rest of the day free in Monteverde.
In the morning, we will visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve – a private, non-profit reserve managed by the Tropical Science Center. There are six distinct ecological zones within the reserve, and it is considered a cloud forest because, due to its altitude, clouds drift through the forest canopy. The area is perfect for canopy tours thanks to the thousands of plants, birds, insects, and butterflies that inhabit it.
Transfer to Manuel Antonio & rest of the day free in Manuel Antonio.
Manuel Antonio National Park is Costa Rica's most popular national park, boasting beautiful white-sand beaches surrounded by lush vegetation. Our naturalist guides will explain the area's history and geography, helping you make the most of your visit. During the tour, you may see sloths, monkeys, iguanas, and a wide variety of birds and insects.
