Leaving the city, we can see the contrast between urban life and the tranquility of rural life, based on agricultural production and primarily coffee cultivation, although we will also find plantations of ferns, flowers, strawberries, and dairy farms.
Upon arriving at the century-old Doka Estate Coffee Mill, we will have a typical breakfast and then immediately begin the Coffee Tour. At this real coffee plantation, we will learn the traditional techniques used by experts to produce some of the best coffee in Costa Rica. After the tour, we will continue our journey to Poás Volcano, where we can hike to its main crater and explore additional trails to learn about the different ecosystems in this unique and protected national park.
The volcano’s exit allows us to return to Juan Santamaría International Airport at 1:30 PM or to your hotel in San José at approximately 2:00 PM.
