The tour begins with a journey through the extraordinary rainforest of Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of Costa Rica’s most important reserves, which also serves as a natural boundary between the Caribbean and the Central Valley.
Eventually, after crossing the National Park, we will arrive in the Sarapiquí area, a beautiful region in the northeast of the country, known for its incredible natural wealth. Upon arrival, we will board a boat for a relaxing ride along the river, where we will look for rainforest animals such as monkeys, iguanas, birds, and many more.
After the boat trip, we will continue with a hike along the private trails of Selva Verde Eco Lodge, a paradise for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and plant lovers, where we can appreciate details of the ecosystems, plants, trees, fauna, and much more. At the end of the hike, we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
On the way to San José, we’ll visit the famous aerial tramway in the rainforest, where, aboard a gondola, we can observe the trees and nature in the company of a local naturalist guide. (If you prefer an adrenaline rush, instead of the tramway, you can take the zipline tour with 7 cables).
The rainforest comprises 475 hectares of private reserve and shares a 10-kilometer border with Braulio Carrillo National Park, forming an intermediate zone between the park and farmland.
